In January 2019, Architectuurplatform Terwecoren Verdickt was invited with 4 other architectural teams by D'Ieteren Group to develop a vision about the garage 2.0 for the site along the canal in Brussels-Anderlecht. The objective is to create a space that allows complementarity between the various current and future modes of transport in the city like car sharing, e-bikes, speedpedelecs, the use of mobility apps,... . D'Ieteren wants the facility where the automotive activities will be developed in the coming years to quickly adapt to changes in mobility in order to make room for the mobility needs of tomorrow. The building we presented, the Mobidrome, is composed of flexible commercial space, a production space for the maintenance of new vehicles and modular warehouses for spin-offs where research and development of new apps, prototypes, commercials, events, conferences and exhibitions,... take place. The culture of new mobility is organised around a green rooftopspace with a semi-public velodrome, the catwalk of mobility 2.0, and a panorama over the City of Brussels.
