RESIDENCE LONDERZEEL
Location: Londerzeel
Client: Private
Implanted on a large flat building site on the edge of an agricultural area, the house enjoys at the front and the back a wide view of a flat landscape over the horizon. On the side, the leafy canopy of an existing orchard provides an intimate outdoor space. A fixed cadence rhythms the grounds and the house. The materialization is in exposed concrete on both the inside and outside. Rhythm and exposed concrete let the landscapes enter into the interior. The rigorous system also makes it possible to build the building volume as a coherent object that simultaneously utilizes the views with open windows and can fit in the necessary shielding at the level of the neighbours' house or the street facade. The house is embedded in the scenic context of the site. The land doesn't turn into a controlled garden. The original hedge on the street side and the row of willows are preserved. As well as the grass meadow and the orchard.
